Personal Experience
Mario Flores grew up in the Edinburg, Texas, down in the Rio Grande Valley. He comes from a family of migrant workers and field laborers. Nevertheless, his parents sought to encourage his studies to ensure his success. He studied Urban Planning at Cornell University and attended graduate school at the University of Texas in Austin where he received a Masters in Community and Regional Planning. Mario worked in the city and regional planning field for 5 years.
After spending a few years as a Senior Planner with the City of Dallas, he chose to pursue his passion in justice by becoming a lawyer at the Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock. He has been an attorney for 9 years and has been a solo practitioner for the last six years where he has a general law practice which helps everyone from large companies to individuals with meager resources. Mario loves being involved in his community and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the American Cancer Society. He also served as general counsel for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Mario's legal recognitions include being recognized as a "Rising Star Attorney" among the Texas Super Lawyers for 2 separate years. He has a wife and 2 elementary age boys and enjoys racquetball, tennis and attending his kid's soccer games.
